The 31st July 2022 sadly marks another year that passes by since Joshua Jones took his own life. Joshua fondly known and remembered as ‘DOOGA’ worked his way from Utility Worker to Driller at McKay Drilling in his three short years with the company. The loss of a beloved friend and colleague is still felt greatly throughout the company. McKay Drilling with support from Joshua’s family commemorate him with an official company remembrance day, DOOGA DAY.
DOOGA DAY, is a day to reflect on the loss of loved ones and to raise awareness about suicide and mental health. McKay Drilling encourage all to check on their friends and colleagues as we never truly know how many people we encounter every day that are struggling internally.
Communication has been distributed to all Rig Supervisors on how to commemorate the day onsite. For those that are on RnR, you are welcome to attend a Brekkie BBQ event on Friday 29th July. Please contact rebecca@mckaydrilling.com.au for more information.
