Well Done to Keala Veale – People Award
McKay Drilling Management would like to recognise Keala who is a good example of representing the company. Keala has been recently overheard on a flight from Newman to Perth talking about her positive experiences working for McKay Drilling. She was heard explaining what a great company McKays is to work for and how she enjoys all aspects of her job. Keala also talked about the opportunities at McKay and what a great team she works with. We would not usually share the details of how a person has been nominated but this is a great example of how our interactions with the public are impactful. We are really happy to hear Keala is enjoying working for McKay’s and Thank you for your positivity. Great Work Keala!!!
Well Done to Travis Duxson – Accountability Award
McKay Drilling Management would like to recognise Travis who questioned the torque specs of the telehandler we have on site and whether it required a different torque setting. Travis also presented solutions and it’s great to see when the team look further into problems and present solutions. Well Done Travis!!
Well Done to Tuimasi Katafono – People Award
McKay Drilling Management would like to recognise Tui who has led by example and is training his fellow crew members to his high standards and is showing great leadership and patience whilst doing so. He has a great way of teaching and always remains calm. He knows how to run the rig and what is expected of him from the driller and is always keen to learn from others when we have recently completed PTO’s around the rig and is always looking for ways to improve safety and the way we carry out tasks. Well Done Tui!!
Well Done to Conor Mangan – Accountability Award
McKay Drilling Management would like to recognise Conor who has consistently shown exceptional dedication to work, as recognized by McKay and Fortescue leadership. He actively mentors new team members, ensuring they meet high standards, and assists relief drillers from other sites in understanding Chichester Res Def procedures efficiently. Conor readily engages with safety teams, welcoming their suggestions for improvement, and possesses extensive knowledge within and beyond his role. During prestart meetings, he impresses with insightful hazard assessments and well-crafted mitigation strategies, even during early mornings. He embodies McKay and client values of safety, family, and integrity, while maintaining humility. Conor deserves acknowledgment for his consistent excellence. Well Done Conor!!

McKay Drilling Management would like to recognise Allen, Nick, Aaron and Tony from the Workshop who worked incredibly hard to ensure Rig 25 was field ready on time. Well Done Team!!
